The Wangs’ Manor situated in Yaoshan Town, Shunping County, Baoding City of Hebei Province was built in the 4th year under the reign of Shunzhi Emperor during the Qing Dynasty (the year of 1647) by the forefather of the Wangs, Wang Xigun. It has a history of nearly 400 years until now. The Wangs’ Manor is China’s largest and most complete general’s mansion and tycoon’s villa in the Qing Dynasty in existence. It is a “Major Historical and Cultural Site Protected at the National Level”.

保定腰山王氏莊園始建于清順治四年（公元1647年），位于河北省保定市腰山鎮(zhèn)，是王氏先祖王錫袞所建，距今已有近400年歷史。腰山王氏莊園是中國現(xiàn)存規(guī)模最大、最完整的清代將軍府邸和巨商的豪門巨宅，現(xiàn)為全國重點(diǎn)文物保護(hù)單位。

The buildings in this manor differ both from the royal palaces and dwellings of ordinary people. The building complex represents the peak of residential buildings in north China. It is said that “if you want to see royal building, go to the Forbidden City. If you want to see folk building, go to Yaoshan (the Wangs).”

該莊園建筑既不同于皇宮官府，又不同于一般民居，是我國北方居民建筑的極品。故有“皇家建筑看故宮，民間建筑看腰山（王家）”之說。

The Wangs’ Manor is a castle-type above-standard folk building complex of the Qing Dynasty rarely seen in the architectural history of China’s ancient buildings. Covering a total area of 279 mu (1/15 hectare), the manor consists of more than 1,000 rooms. The most important building complex Ren (meaning mercy) He (meaning harmony) Hall is a courtyard suite composed of 10 quadrangle courtyards. It is considered as a very valuable cultural relic of ancient building.

保定腰山王氏莊園是中國古建筑史上一處罕見的超規(guī)制清代城堡式民居建筑群。莊園總占地面積279畝，房屋1000多間，作為核心建筑群的“仁和堂”是一個由10個四合院組成的大套院，成為異常珍貴的古建文物。

The manor has profound cultural implications just like a book which we can never finish reading. Also, it is a really rare Movie/TV Base. Many movies and TV series such as Struggles in An Ancient City, The Greatest Building, etc. were shot here since the founding of the People’s Republic of China. It is now a “Major Historical and Cultural Site Protected at the National Level” and an AAA-rated tourist attraction.
